Check around and behind all toilets. Look at the supply line connection at the base of the tank and at the floor. Feel the floor around the base of the toilet for softness. A toilet that rocks slightly has a compromised wax ring seal that allows wastewater to seep beneath the toilet with every flush.
Check the water heater. Look for moisture on the floor around the base of the unit, corrosion on the supply connections at the top, and staining on the exterior of the tank. A water heater that is leaking may drip slowly for extended periods before the leak becomes obvious.
Check the washing machine connections. The hot and cold supply hoses at the back of the washing machine are a common source of slow leaks. Look for moisture at the wall connections and at the points where the hoses connect to the machine.
