JHS was started for family. Jitterbug is the name we gave to our daughter, who we miscarried on April 11, 2017. The business was named after her as a constant reminder to us that family always comes first.

The reason I started a handyman business, specifically, goes back to an elderly woman I used to help, whom lived in my neighborhood. Martina was taken advantage of by a service company that she called to fix a problem at her home. I felt that she was at a disadvantage because she was an elderly widow that didn't know what fair treatment actually was, in her situation. The treatment she received made me very angry with the service industry and their immoral practices.

I decided to create a business to change the standard of how service professionals treated and cared for those who were naive, desperate and victimized.

We at JHS have a heart for widows, single parents, special needs families and elderly.

I also have an educators heart. I try to teach my customers about their homes and WHY they're built in such a way, while I'm performing their repair.

Another favorite occurrence of mine is when my customer's kids or grandkids want to help. I love giving them a peak into my world - coaching them on the proper use of tools and showing them the excitement that I get from diving into and completing a problem at a house.

I have a burning desire to share a legacy, to leave an imprint on this world. That desire became an obsession when my doctor told me that I couldn't pass on my bloodline and that I wouldn't live past middle age. * You can ask me for that story when you meet me in person.*Â
